Wednesday 24 Show

Wednesday September 24, was an information packed show with great guest. Starting off, we had Sandy Clemons the owner of Ain't It Good Production talking about the overall entertainment industry and the importance of a model actually knowing how to be a model rather than just walking in not prepared, as well as, Sandy inspired models who think that their time is up by sharing her story of how in her 40's, Sandy not only lost 100lbs but she is back in the modeling business herself.




As an actress and model herself, Sandy started her professional career as a classical pianist. She has since added to her portfolio of works, which keeps her in the entertainment business. Sandy has been booked as a singer, musician, vocal coach, acting coach, actor, photographer, make up artist, director, producer and choreographer. Sandy explains her diverse background: "It seems like I do a lot, but the reality is, I'm not really any different that people who work in this industry. You do what you can to stay in the entertainment circle. Otherwise, you end up having to get a "real" job!"


As owner of AIGP, Sandy has worked for 10 years helping actors, models, singers and dancers to get into the entertainment business. Her clients have appeared on shows such as "Suite Life with Zach and Cody", "ER", "Enterouge", Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network. Her models have worked in NY, LA, Europe and Tokyo.

Followed by Sandy, we had another inspirational guest from Choice Models in Killeen, Tx who shared that she started this group because there was no agency in her area for models wanting to get in the industry. Great Show: Makeup and the Model



Today's show was a really great show as we had owner of Natural Glamour Cosmetics Detra Dixon in the studio. Great questions were answered in regards to treating acne, what to do to keep the signs of aging down including skin care for men. That's right, men need to take care of their skin too. Detra shared with models what they need to know in order to prepare their skin for a photoshoot including the right kind of makeup to show up in your pictures. It was truly an informative show and who better to talk about makeup than Detra?

Detra Dixon is a licensed Aesthetician, and professional makeup artist residing in Dallas, Texas. Detra Dixon showed an interest in makeup at an early age, doing makeup for her friends for the highschool prom in 1985. When asked by one of her good friends what was she going to be, Detra replied a makeup artist. In 1993 Detra attended Ogle beauty school in Arlington Texas where she obtained a License in Esthetics. Upon graduating from Ogle beauty school Detra was accepting any and all jobs that came her way. Detra worked as a skin care specialist at the acclaimed John Robert Powers Modeling Agency. After leaving John Robert Powers, she began to do freelance work with various cosmetics lines. Detra was one of the first MAC makeup artist at North Park Mall, and opened the first MAC store in the Dallas area. She has freelanced for lines such as Fashion Fair,Flori Roberts, Shu Eumuera, Yves St Laurant,Nars, Color me Beautiful,Nat Robbins,and many many more.


In addition Detra has had the pleasure to be Lead Makeup artist for Comedian’s Nanette Lee’s mother during a mother’s day photo shoot, Shawn and Marlon Wayan’s for their scary movie promo tour, Tyrese Gipson, and John Singleton




for their Baby Boy Promo Tour, Monique the Grammy Award winning actress as well as professor Oglevee during a press tour,D.L. Hughley, and Singer Athena Cage formerly of the group “Kut Klose”.
She has also been a part of numerous photoshoots as well as plays, fashion shows, commercial shoots, and print work. Detra is totally committed to her career as a professional
makeup artist ,along with overwhelming passion for the beauty industry. When asked what separates Natural Glamour Cosmetic s from the hundreds of other Lines that exist today, Detra’s response was that “Natural Glamour Cosmetics is a line that was designed with All women in mind. Wednesday November 3 Show!

Todays show was awesome, we had discussions and call ins today from all over the place. One young lady called in from Omaha Nebraska to ask about how to get started in her area .



Special in studio guest Actor and International Entertainer Jason 'Jayloc" with Blacken Blues, conscious theater was here today to talk about the acting industry and gave us insight into his 20 yr experience and how to get started in the business.

He also talked about his upcoming drama play " Birmingham still Burning"







Other artist called in to tell us about some upcoming shows. Pretty good start to a fresh show!
