Todrick Johnson is the CEO/Founder of Epitome Magazine, which is a national monthly publication, dedicated to spreading Gospel not Gossip across the nation. As a result, those seeking God or a deeper relationship will find solace in this positive publication changing minds, hearts and souls.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” As John 1:1 declares, the Word’s existence since the induction of time, so is Epitome founded upon God’s Truth—His Holy Word. That is why Epitome Magazine is the only publication to offer a sermon with each issue.

Since its inception of January 2007 (first publication), Epitome Magazine promotes Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” This passage assures those who believe that the price of healing has been paid. It is because of this promise, Epitome advocates mental, physical and spiritual healthiness throughout the body of Christ.

Todrick is a native of Mississippi and as a visionary he has always had a sight for leading people in the right directions. Due to the direction that the world has chosen to follow lately, has caused Johnson great hurt and pain. Somehow we have let the so called Government and Lawmakers take control of our lives. As a Christian, Johnson has taken the stand to inform the world that the only system we should believe in is THE POWER OF GOD.

Having growing up in a Christian based family he had two loving grandmothers that insisted he attend church. Back then church consisted of going to Sunday school, bible study, singing in the youth choir and participating in the youth ministries. Shortly after their home-going, his life began to drastically change. He was not as active in church as he had been when they were there to guide him. Fortunately, he had great parents that helped him refrain from the troubling world by providing a stable childhood.

Since becoming a man, through my struggles and trials, Johnson realized that the only way he could make it was rededicating his life to God. God has given him strength and courage to stand up to any demon that tries to enter his world and still his joy. For the first time in his life since his grandparents have been deceased, God placed someone special in his life that he can grow with spiritually and mentally. That someone is his wife Monica. Monica is an amazing woman of God that enjoys empowering Todrick with the necessary tools to fight day to day life. It is because of Monica that he is able to have more confidence than when he started Epitome Magazine.

Because God has blessed him so, what better consideration than to give back to Him by helping spread His Word. Aside from publishing a sermon that is taught in church to the magazine, Epitome Magazine is also the only publication that is dedicated to closing out each issue with a prayer.

What a privilege to lay our burdens at the Master’s feet. There is no greater joy than to commune with the Father, knowing He attends to our every need and desire.

Tears Of Blood

HappyNia Dance Theatre Productions, Inc. presents "Tears of Blood: Walk the Runway." In remembering those who have passed away from HIV/AIDS we present an evening of fashion, dance and spoken word.

We are committed to using fashion as a way of looking at the functions of the cells in the body hosted by a poor or compromised immune system. Our intent is to peek curiosity and challenge other performing arts organizations in the metroplex to engage in more creative ways to address the issues of HIV/AIDS and its compromising complications. We would like to encourage everyone in the community to come out and dialogue with us about this disease.

We would like to honor three (3) specific honorees and recognize those who are active in the community as it relates to prevention and outreach. We honor them for their tireless efforts in staying in the fight to help save the community.

We are asking for all to come and enjoy the show, but also bring your wallets to give to a cause that will help encourage more work from the community and we will use our artistic expressions to help influence the process. Funds from this fundraiser will go towards sending four (4) young dancers to college, with enough money to pay for their first year of books and a partial payment for their housing.

We hope that you are willing to help us make a difference in the lives of our youth and do what we think is best for their future and the only way to do that is to sew a seed in their education.

What types of Models Get Work?

I was asked this question last week by an aspiring model and thought it was as excellent question.
I hear so many young ladies and men that call them selves Models. How many actually get work??

The Types of Models Who Get AD Work

Models who land advertisements bookings often have physical attributes  that relate to the product. This is particularly true of beauty advertisements for hair and skin-care products and makeup. If it's a body cream, the model will have beautiful., flawless skin. without any bruises or scratches or tattoos.
If it's a hair ad, she will have healthy, beautiful hair. For fashion ads. on the other hand, designers usually select a celeb or model who is either the It Girl of the moment or one who embodies what's happening in fashion, depending on what look the designer is trying to sell that season. Other times, especially in smaller markets, the advertiser will choose a model whose look appeals to local consumers.

The Key is knowing how and becoming the "It Girl" of the moment.
My entire career I have heard models that complain that there agency always seems to send the same talent (favorites) to all the important bookings. Why is that? More importantly how can you stand out and become the it girl.

The first steps in the process is to build a demand around yourself. This process is up to you to do - do not expect your agent or anyone else to do it for you.
There are steps that you can take to make this happen. I have designed certain tips and strageties, that if learned and applied will increase your visuabilty and demand in your market.

Parts Modeling

A “Part” model is a model who specializes in modeling certain body parts such as the legs, feet, hands, or back-basically any part of the body, but rarely the face. Parts models can be hired to do a variety of work-editorial work, advertising, TV commercials, catalogs, even films. Parts models generally don’t meet the requirements to be fashion models- maybe they’re not tall enough or don’t have the right look- but they have at least one standout part, such as beautiful hands, gorgeous legs, or perfect feet.
Aside from having the physical qualifications of a great part, an aspiring parts model needs to have plenty of patience and the ability to keep her part still while photographers adjust lights, backdrops, and props to get ready to shoot.

Parts models generally get started a little older than regular models; between the ages of 18 and 20 is common. As long as your part stays beautiful, you could model for up to  25 years or more is common. The work can be very intense and tedious, yet it can be a long, lucrative career for someone with fantastic legs, stand out feet, or lovely hands.
